Army Public School Wins Qirat Contest
Karachi : September 24: Students of the Army Public School (APS), Rashid Minhas Road, received the overall winning trophy of the Inter Schools Hifz-o-Qirat Competition-2013 held at the Auditorium of the Defence Authority College for Women Phase-VIII on Monday.
Rear Admiral (retd) Prof Dr Sarfaraz Hussain, Vice Chancellor DHA Suffa University was the chief guest of the function.In the Hifz-o-Quran competition, Mahek Adil of Defence Authority Iqra Model School got the first position while M Taha Yaseen of Army Public School (APS), Rashid Minhas Road and Abdul Rehman of Defence Authority Model High School Phase-VII got the second and third positions respectively.
In Husan-e-Qirat competition, Usama Gulsher of Defence Authority Iqra Model School Phase-VIII clinched the first position, Shah Zaman of Defence Authority Model High School Phase-VII was declared second and Zaeem Ali of Defence Authority SKBZ College third.
Dr Hussain emphasised the significance of learning and reciting the Holy Quran and understanding its meanings. The Quran was a source of guidance and inspiration for mankind. He reiterated that recitation of the holy book brings a spiritual and intellectual transformation in a person and greatly impacts human life.
The spirit of Islam envisaged seeking to strive for constant knowledge and advancement in life while practicing its teachings and values in its real essence,” he said and added that the best way to follow the Quran was to practice its teachings in one’s daily life.The news.
