Punjab University faces difficulties in receiving funds
LAHORE: September 09: A progress review meeting for reviewing physical as well as financial progress of projects of different Punjab University institutions was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran.
The mega project for strengthening of newly initiated academic programmes was also discussed in detail. Vice-Chancellor regretted that some people are creating hindrances in the construction of the new buildings of College of Art & Design and the file regarding its plans has disappeared from the record. He said that the administration is firm in its plans regarding this college and he will conduct an inquiry against those who are responsible for the delay. It was decided that the staff of different departments will be trained to look after and keep record of their development plans. The monthly review meetings regarding these projects will be called.
University officials will meet Higher Education Commisssion's authorities to discuss about the delayed and held up funds. The Vice-Chancellor also said that he will also write a detailed letter to the Chief Minister regarding the held up amounts which have caused delay in so many very important projects of the university.
On the request of Principal Punjab University College of Information Technology Dr Mansoor Sarwar, it was decided that the ground breaking ceremony of the college's new building will be attended by the VC of September 12 at 9:00 am.
