Ban on Teachers’ Recruitment in Punjab Revoked
Rawalpindi : September 29:  The Punjab government has revoked a ban on the recruitment of teachers and ordered the Education Department to start the process of hiring 29,822 educators in all 36 districts.
The recruitment process will start on October 20 and be completed until the end of December. The new teachers will join the department in January next year.
After 10 years, almost 2,000 art teachers will be recruited.
In district Rawalpindi, 1,858 male and female teachers will be appointed, 1,703 will be recruited in Attock, 506 in Jhelum and 742 in Chakwal districts.
The candidates will have to achieve at least 50 percent marks in the entry test to qualify for the interview. Final selection will be made after interviews.
Inter suppl exams to start from Nov 2: The Intermediate Supplementary Exams 2013 under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi will start from November 2.
The board has announced the schedule and asked the students to get admission forms and submit fees for the exams.
According to the schedule, the candidates can submit the form with single fee until October 7. The form can be submitted with double fee from October 9 to October 11, while October 21 will be the last date to submit the form with triple fee.
Gender, women studies workshop starts on Oct 7: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Department of Gender and Women Studies has scheduled workshops for the students of PGD/MSc Gender and Women Studies programmes for the Second Semester 2013 from October 7.
The workshop courses include Research Methods in Gender Studies, Applied Statistics in Gender Studies, Feminist Debates on Gender Inequalities, Feminism and Islam, Sociological Theory-I and Sociology of Gender Issues I.

The workshops will start from October 7 and continue until October 13, from 9am onwards daily.

Students from the Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and DG Khan regions will attend the workshops through video-conferencing, while students from other regions will attend the workshops at the main auditorium of the university at Sector H8, Islamabad. Information letters for attending the workshops are being sent to all students enrolled at their given addresses. Scholarship programme: The government has announced scholarships for employee’s children.

The children of serving, retired and deceased federal government employees from grades 1 to 22 can obtain scholarship forms from the Staff Welfare Organisation, Chaudhry Rehmat Ali Community Centre, G7, Islamabad, and file them until October 24.

Sources said 110 million rupees had been allocated for the scholarship programme by the Staff Welfare Organisation Establishment Division.
