Students to Support Proper Waste Disposal
Lahore :30 June: Students of five institutions have finalised a strategy to create awareness among residents of localities along six tertiary drains to properly dispose of waste during the monsoon.
Participated in by the students of Punjab University, Samanabad College, Lahore College for Women University, Sanjan Nagar Trust School and Kinnaird College, a meeting of the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Youth Club decided on Saturday the weeklong awareness campaign would start on July 2.
The meeting decided to set up awareness camps in localities adjacent to Khizarabad, Cantt, Sattukatla, Shahdara, Upper Chota Ravi and Shalamar drains. Manned by LWMC workers and operation staff, the camps would also receive complaints for speedy removal of waste.
Special bags, leaflets and other awareness material would be distributed by LWMC Youth Club members who would also brief the residents about proper disposal of waste.Dawn.
