Karachi Degree classes' admission problems

Karachi: Students seeking admission to the first year degree classes (BA, BSc and BCom) are facing immense difficulties in getting admission as the criterion set for the purpose differs from college to college.

A number of students have complained that though the admission process began on Jan 15, many colleges were not issuing them admission forms on the plea that the Karachi University had asked them to give admission only to those students who had secured 60 per cent or above marks in their intermediate exams.

Meanwhile, a number of students who are seeking admission to BCom (part-I) in Khursheed Girls Govt College, Shah Faisal Colony, said that the college administration were not issuing them admission forms despite the fact that they had passed their intermediate exams from the same college.

They complained that Allama Iqbal Govt Girls College which is also located in the same locality had also turned down their admission requests, saying that when the college from where they had studied was not accommodating them then how they could expect to get admission to another college.
