Model for uplift of livestock farmers University of Veterinary and animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore

LAHORE (APP): The University of Veterinary and animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore is working on a plan to launch a project 'UVAS model for socio-economic uplift of livestock farmers through technology transfer in rural Punjab.' The project would be run on the Ravi Campus at Bhuneki (Pattoki) where state-of-the-art infrastructure is being developed for human resource development through education and hands-on-training. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz chaired a meeting Saturday on the project in which the deans of all faculties, directors of research, quality enhancement, university diagnostic lab and other officials participated. Dr. Sanaullah Bhatti represented Punjab government. According to a press release,the meeting reviewed the project plan, funding resources, execution and its benefits for the farmers of the rural Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said that livestock production was very low in the country because of constraints like malnutrition, diseases, poor management and lack of marketing, adding that farmers were unable to get proper income-output for their hard work.
