Status quo demanded on King Edward Medical College and University

LAHORE:THE Kemcolians Fourm, comprising old graduates of King Edward Medical College and University, has demanded Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif maintain university status of their alma mater as well as restore original historical status of the college.

The Kemcolians Forum, which comprises over 22,000 old graduates of the institution, has been revived, as it elected its new office-bearers and executive body members from different hospitals and medical institutions during a ceremony held here at KEMU premises on Friday.

Prof Dr Javed Akram, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College/Jinnah Hospital, has been elected unopposed as President of Kemcolians Forum, Dr Amer Aziz as Senior Vice President, Dr Azimuddin Zahid as Vice President, Dr Samra Nasir, Commissioner Income Tax, as Lady Vice President, Dr Salman Kazmi as Secretary General, Joint Secretary Prof Dr Muhammad Amjad, Dr Imran Waheed as Finance Secretary while executive members include Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, Regional Director College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, Dr Sarwar Chaudhry, President Pakistan Medical Association, Dr Arif Siddique from Jinnah Hospital, Dr Amber Malik, Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Dr Masood Ahmad, Ittefaq Hospital, Dr Khalid Idrees, CMH, Lahore, Dr Ahmed Kamran, Mayo Hospital, Dr Nasir, FMH, Lahore, Dr Zahid Yasin, Allied Hospital, Faisalabad and Prof Dr Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab from Lahore General Hospital.
