Tribal students protest outside K-P Assembly
PESHAWAR:25 June: Students in the merged tribal districts of the province on Tuesday gathered outside the provincial assembly on Tuesday to stage a massive protest over the lack of internet access in their areas.

They demanded provision of the essential service, deeming it critical to obtain an education at a time when the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has forced the government to close down educational institutes.

Protesters, who gathered under the banner of the K-P Students Council, held up placards and banners inscribed with their demands. They also chanted slogans against the government.
The protesting students expressed the fear that they may lose an academic year just because they do not have internet connections at their homes in the merged areas.

They demanded that either all educational institutions are reopened immediately or that they should be provided facilities to continue their education online.Published in The Express Tribune,
