Peripheral and Carotid Interventions Workshop

Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore like other esteemed medical institutions of the world is continuously striving to improve standards of medical care for the patients coming to this hospital. In order to update the knowledge and skill of the doctors working at PIC, a workshop was organized on 25th March, 2004. Research and Medical Education Department in collaboration with the Department of Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Cardiology organized this workshop. This academic activity was supervised by Prof Jawad Sajid Khan Head of the Institution, Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore. The invited speaker of the workshop was Dr Tanvir Khalid Bajwa who is Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, University of Wisconsin Medical School, Sinai Samaritan Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI, USA.
The Workshop was organized to teach the participants new techniques of Peripheral and Carotid Interventions by delivering lectures and also to show live cases being performed by the invited consultants.

Workshop - Principle Techniques in Vascular Surgery

Department Research & Continuing Medical Education and Department of Cardiovascular Surgery organized a workshop on principle techniques in vascular surgery at the auditorium of PIC on 28th June, 2003.
The main objectives of the workshop were:

To explain the basic principles of the vascular surgery.
To train trainee doctors the basic procedures of graft anastomosis / conduit harvesting.
To dedicate the young doctors about the sutures and graft materials.
The Chief Cardiac Surgeon / Head of the Institution supervised the workshop.
