SHC seeks Report on Award of School Tenders on Political Basis
Karachi : October 05 : The Sindh High Court directed the provincial law officer on Friday to submit a statement on the disbursement of government funds for the renovation of schools in Thatta.
The direction came on a petition of Syed Manzoor Ali Shah, a former union council nazim, against the award of tenders on a political basis for the renovation of 251 government primary and middle schools for boys and girls in the Thatta district.
The petitioner alleged that the tenders were given on a political basis without any inspection or evaluation of the government primary, middle and high schools.
The high court directed the provincial law officer tell it the number of schools that had been renovated and whether the funds were disbursed or not.
It directed the law officer to place on record such information within three weeks, and adjourned the hearing. The news.
