SMIU’s Foundation Day Celebrations
Karachi : August 30: The Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) is organising a three-day celebration of Sindh Madressatul Islam to mark its 128th Foundation Day from August 30 to 1st September at its premises.
All the departments of the SMI University shall organise an opening ceremony of the Foundation Day on the subject of “Past, Present and Future of Sindh Madressatul Islam” on Friday (today) at 10.00am at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium of SMIU. Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of SMIU shall preside.
The students of the university shall deliver their speeches on various aspects of SMI including history of SMI, impediments faced by Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi during SMI’s early years, personality of illustrious student of SMI – Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, architecture of SMI, role of Sindh Madressah in imparting education to the students of rural areas of Sindh, a story of romance with SMI, SMIU from an average Pakistani’s view and elevation of SMI to the level of university.
On the second day of celebrations, Saturday, August 31st, SMIU Boys Model School and SMIU Girls Model School shall jointly organise a programme at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium of SMIU, at 11am Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, VC SMIU would be the chief guest. The students of both the model schools shall present tableaus, national songs, deliver speeches and perform on skits, to highlight the services of SMI, spread over 128 years.
The concluding session would be held on Sunday, September 1st, in the evening at the premises of SMIU, which will be attended by noted academicians, intellectuals and other representatives of the society.
It must be remembered that Sindh Madressatul Islam was founded by Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi and his friends on 1st September 1885 at Karachi. Since then it has played a pivotal role in spreading quality education before and after creation of Pakistan to its young generation.

 

It is the institution, where the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other central leaders of the Independence Movement received their early education. It is still engaged in imparting quality education to the students of all social classes of the country.The news.
