Fatima Jinnah Women University Art Exhibition
Rawalpindi : 28 August : An art exhibition under the theme, ‘Thesis Display 2013’, was held at the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Tuesday.
FJWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir inaugurated the art exhibition of the students of bachelors of computer arts (BCA).
While appreciating the artwork of the students, Dr Samina said the work done by the students was very impressive and represents their creativity and imagination combined with the dedication and hard work of their teachers.
She also stressed the students to apply their knowledge in their respective fields and market their work. She admired the originality of the work and appreciated that students had tried to promote their own culture and stories rather then borrowing western ideas.
She also appreciated the efforts of BCA Department In charge Farina Iqbal in making the event successful.
Farina Iqbal said, “The work of our students has got international recognition and some of the alumni of BCA, FJWU are successful entrepreneurs catering to international markets.”
She said the exhibition had provided an opportunity for young and aspiring artists to exhibit their talent by displaying their creative endeavours.
The exhibition featured photography, paintography, game design, computer graphics, visual art, textile, computer architecture, documentary production, campaign development and graphics designing.
In visual arts category, a student expressed fear as a positive aspect of nature, which contributes to the struggle and efforts for accomplishing or achievements. Another student presented her work on the revival of old games, including kish, kho kho, pithu garam.
Textile students presented various styles of clothes, cushions, tablecloth, sofa covers, rugs, wall hangings etc. Students designed different campaigns for existing brands and for brands they created themselves. In computer graphics category, students created posters, brochures, calendars, animation, cartoons in 2D and 3D.
The art exhibition was attended by a large number of students, faculty members and media persons. Students received a fabulous response and admiration from the visitors on their works of art. app.
