Role of Parents Vital for Character Building of kids GCU Faisalabad
FAISALABAD:August 24:  GC University Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain has said that the role of parents is vital for character building of their children.
He said this while chairing a seminar ‘Parenting Experiences’ arranged by the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Home Economics, GCUF, on Friday. Punjab Medical College Department of Psychiatry Head Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Institute of Home Economics Director Dr Nighat Bhatti, Dr Muhammad Umair Arshad, Nosheen Haidar, Prof Rashida Zafar and others also attended the seminar. The vice-chancellor said that in modern era, the life was becoming very busy, reducing the time of parents to spend with their kids. The trend needs to be curtailed by making all out efforts to spare the maximum time for the children as parents play a vital role in their character building, he suggested. He said that parents act as initial educational institute for the kids. He was of the view that Pakistan was blessed with the talented nation and by giving proper guidance to our children, we could make progress rapidly. He called for illuminating the hearts of our and children with the injections of Islam throwing light on the every sphere of life. He also stressed the need to read the Quran with translation to adopt the right path. He also urged the parents and teachers to turn all the stones in polishing skills of students to become an active member of the society. Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar said that children were facing many challenges in the modern technological era in shaping their views. Special focus should be given to the children to the build up their thoughts as per golden instruction of the Islam, he added. Dr Nighat Bhatti said that modern media was acting as the teachers of children. In the current scenario, more responsibility was lying on the parents’ shoulders to supervise the children by becoming their friends for their brought up in right direction, she added.
