Youth Festival After Summer Vacation
Lahore : July 30: THE Punjab government has planned the youth festival comprising 240 co-curricular events after the summer vocation this year.The festival is aimed at flourishing the healthy mentality and positive state of mind in the youth.
According to a handout issued Monday, this was said by Provincial Minister for Education, Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmed while addressing the participants of a provincial level competition of Quran recitation with Tarteel and Naat competition held separately between boy and girl students coming from various educational institutions from all over the province.
The minister said the Punjab government would encourage the position holders of co-curricular competitions. He said the government had included 35 co-curricular events in the last year during Punjab Youth Festival and the government had planned to include 240 co-curricular events in the festival this year. Rana Mashhood Ahmed gave away cash prizes, Eid gifts and trophies to the position holder contestants. The judges of the competitions were noted Qari Ghulam Rasool and famous Naat Khawan Akhtar Hussain Qureshi.
The prominent Naat Khawans who received special prizes included Hafiza Zunaira Siddiq from Punjab University, Ali Bakhsh and Zeeshan Ali from a private group of colleges, Jamil Ahmed Awaisi from UET, Lahore, Muhammad Salman Zaffar from an academy of Shahdara, Muhammad Asif Raza from Punjab University, Nauman Ali from private group of colleges, Habib Altaf from Government PSB College, Kamalia and Syed Arbaaz Shah from Government Arif Secondary School, Dharampura, Lahore.
