USAID delegation visits PU

Lahore: A two-member delegation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) visited Punjab University (PU) and called on
Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran on Tuesday.

The delegation consisted of Higher Education Specialist Dr Jerry Boardman and Evaluation Team Member Rafiq Jaffer. PU External Linkages Director Prof Dr Najma Najam and Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan were also present on the occasion.

Dr Kamran briefed the delegation about various research programmes, curricula, faculty members, the tenure track system (TTS), quality assurance and the Lincoln and the Iranian Centres set up at the main library of the varsity. The VC said that the university had over 600 faculty members, of which only 30 per cent were PhD holders. The university administration encouraged and provided maximum facilities to the faculty for doing their PhDs. The VC also said that the university had adopted the TTS in principle. Daily Times
