Patients Walfare Department Punjab Institue of Cardiology Lahore   

The Medical Social Services (MSS) project or the patient welfare society (PWS) of this institute originated in 1991.
Objective:

The main aim of this project is to help and facilitate poor patients by:
• Providing free medicines.
• Making arrangements for operations.
• Providing moral and psychological support.
Sources For Patients’ Help:
• Zakat Fund
• Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.
• Patient welfare society
The central zakat council provides Rs. 12, 000, 0000.00 per annum for the sole purpose of Cardiac Surgery. The funds are allocated by the PWS. So that maximum number of patients is accommodated.
The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal issues specific amounts as required on case to case basis for the said patients regarding PWS.
Donations are used for immediate help of the patient besides this the society arranges donations from various individuals, companies for complete support of cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology cases.
Free Food for Patients:

Hospital is supplying free food for patients with the collaboration of local company LG Corporation.
