Education Expo has Surprises for Pakistani Students
Islamabad : September 20 : Looking rather shy, Salman couldn’t hide his smile when he was told that he would be given full scholarship for his post-graduation in an Australian university.
Tucking in his hand was his hard-earned bachelor’s degree that he was showing to one of the career counsellors of the HR Consultants which organised an Australian Education Expo here on Thursday.
Salman, like many other young boys, has a dream to study abroad, make it big in his life, to prove his mettle in the world and come back and serve the country with the added advantage of international exposure at hand.
Scores of students, like Salman, came to the expo to see the opportunities Australia was offering to them.
The HR Consultants is among the top consultants of Pakistan who send thousands of students abroad so that they can transform their life and contribute to the economy of Pakistan.
Danish Raza, executive officer of HR Consultants, while talking to ‘The News,’ said: “We conduct two programmes on Australian education annually. First is held in January and the second one in September for the fall and spring semesters respectively. Students must keep in mind that studying in Australia is expensive, but opportunities offered there are student-friendly. The population of Australia is 23 million only, so they need human resource and there is a lot of need for qualified persons. The universities are offering good incentives for international students in Australia.”
Raza said that the HR Consultants was established in 1993. “Currently, we are providing services to students through our nine centres based in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Faisalabad and Multan.”

He said “We don’t have any franchise rather we provide quality service from our recognised centres only. We give training to our career counsellors, and international experts are invited to train our staff. We provide a comfortable environment to students and facilitate them in processing their applications. We are also thankful to Australian High Commissioner Peter Heyward for his continuous support. The students equipped with the international experience open restaurants, franchises etc eventually contributing to the Pakistan’s economy.”

HR Consultants Managing Director Hamid Rauf, while speaking to this scribe, said: “Australian universities are among the top 500 universities in the world. They have 39 universities and all of them are public universities having 100% government control and having quality education. The best part of studying in Australia is that permanent residency and jobs are offered there. After bachelors and masters you get post-study and post-graduate work visa. A lot is being offered to research based students who are allowed full-time job. After completion of masters and PhD, you can get post-study visa which is quite lucrative for students.”

Rauf said: “We are working with Australian universities as their official representatives in Pakistan. In all, we are representing 25 public universities that also includes group of eight universities. Applying through the HR Consultants can waive off the application fee for the application form which is at least from $100 to 200. We facilitate our students by offering them partial and full scholarships. We also assist them in visa processing and visas are filed in Australia. It should be noted that only genuine students with good educational and financial background should apply to study in Australian universities. The news.
