Punjab Govt to Ensure free education to deserving students: Tanvir
F.P.Report LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning & Development, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, has said that the government is ensuring to provide free of cost educational facilities to deserving and intelligent students in professional colleges and for this purpose wenty crore rupees have been allocated during the current financial year.
This was stated by him during a meeting with a delegation of students. Tanvir Ashraf Kaira said that provision of educational facilities is the top most priority of the government and the present government is taking practical measures for fulfilling this responsibility. He said that administrative and financial training would be imparted to 500 teachers while alongwith establishment of 48 new colleges, 30 colleges would be granted the status of model colleges and besides construction and repair of 70 colleges, provision of basic facilities have been nsured. The Minister said that the government has allocated an amount of nine billion ten crore rupees for higher education sector and our government will bring revolutionary changes in the education system for the elimination of difference between poor and rich students. He said that higher education is a need of the hour and in this regard the role of private sector has also utmost importance.
