College of Physicians and Surgeons holds 44th convocation
LAHORE: The 44th convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) was held at a local hotel on Wednesday.

At the ceremony, 300 doctors were awarded with the fellowship and 75 with membership of the college. The fellowship of the college – without an exam – was also awarded to prominent people in the medical profession for their meritorious services.

CPSP President Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry congratulated the recipients of the fellowship and said that more than 85 percent of the specialists of the CPSP were providing medical services across the country. He said a CPSP degree is recognised the world over due to its structured training programme, and it is among the top seven degrees in the world.

Chaudhry urged the recipients of the fellowship to utilise their energies in serving the country and the nation. The chief guest of the ceremony was Special Adviser to the Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, who commended the services of college and assured full cooperation of the government. He announced a grant of Rs 100 million for the institute and expected that it would cooperate with the government in providing specialist doctors to remote areas of the province at the district and tehsil levels.Daily times
