PESHAWAR: The NWFP Minister for Population Welfare Saleem Khan has said that no nation can make progress without making improvement in its educational system. Therefore, keeping in view the importance of education the present government is paying special heed to education and especially to the professional training of teachers on scientific lines. He expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of a training workshop for primary teachers in Government Centennial Model High School Chitral the other day. He urged the teachers to be sincere with their sacred profession in imparting better education to the students. Such training workshops are very important for teachers to update teaching methodologies but it is far important that teachers should ensure the implementation of what they have learnt in the workshop, the Minister maintained. He said that the present government was taking steps to provide free textbooks upto matric level students and give mothly stipends to female students so as to increase the literacy rate. While addressing the ceremony District Coordination Officer Mutasim Billah Shah urged the teachers to be sincere with their profession and work with full devotion and commitment. EDO Education Chitral Samad Gul and other speakers also addressed the ceremony.
