Students of Hamza Army Public School and College Excel
Islamabad :August 28: Girls outshone boys in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-II Annual Examination 2013 held under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).
According to the result announced here on Tuesday morning, female students belonging to the Pre-Medical Group obtained top two positions, while the third position was shared by a boy and a girl.
Naima Gul of Hamza Army Public School and College, Stadium Road (Hamza Camp), Rawalpindi, (Roll No. 543398) of Pre-Medical Group topped in the board among both girls and boys by securing 1036 marks.
The overall second position in the board was grabbed by another student of Hamza Army Public School and College, Stadium Road (Hamza Camp), Rawalpindi, Zainab Khalil (Roll No. 543428) of Pre-Medical Group who obtained 1029 marks.
Third position was shared by Naima Maqsood (Roll No 542690) of Army Public School and College for Girls, 208 Humayun Road, Rawalpindi, and Muhammad Sheharyar Warraich (Roll No. 530915) of Army Public School and College for Boys, Ordnance Road, Rawalpindi, by obtaining 1023 marks. Both students belonged to the Pre-Medical Group.
Like Pre-Medical Group, the female students of the Pre-Engineering Group secured first top two positions, while third position was secured by a boy.
Irsa Rasheed (Roll No. 561746) of Hamza Army Public School and College, Stadium Road (Hamza Camp), Rawalpindi, got 1020 marks and secured top position in the Pre-Engineering Group. Ayesha Zaka (Roll No. 560646) of Punjab College, 92-Nazimuddin Road, F-8/4, Islamabad, obtained 1017 marks and secured second position in the group.
While Syed Ammar Abbas (Roll No. 552632) of Federal Government Sir Syed College, The Mall, Rawalpindi, bagged third position in the Pre-Engineering Group by getting 1016 marks.
In Science General Group, Faiza Ahmed Khan (Roll No. 577945) of Army Public School and College, Jhelum Cantonment, got first position by securing 1011 marks. She was followed by Novera Tahir (Roll No. 579349) of Army Burnhall College for Girls, Abbottabad, who obtained 1010 marks. Sidra Kanwal (Roll No. 575761) of Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG), G-10/4, Islamabad, got 973 marks to get third position.

 

In Commerce Group, boys outsmart girls as Basit Ali (Roll No. 580978) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Sector G-6/1, Aabpara, Islamabad, got 908 marks and Arslan Augustine Joseph (Roll No. 581274) of Punjab College, 92-Nazimuddin Road, F-8/4, Islamabad, secured 887 marks to grab first and second positions respectively. Whereas, Aziz Fatima (Roll No. 585535) of the Garrison Postgraduate College for Women, 52-Tufail Road, Lahore Cantonment, obtained third position in the group by securing 884 marks.

 

In all, 38,930 regular candidates appeared out of which 30,527 passed showing pass percentage of 78.42. While, 11,841 private and ex-candidates appeared and 6,178 cleared the examination thus showing 52.17 pass percentage. While the overall pass percentage of regular and private as well as ex-candidates remained 72.30.

 

The result function was graced by Minister of State for Education Baligh ur Rahman, who while declaring the result, congratulated top position-holders and those who passed the HSSC-II examination. He also congratulated Controller of Examinations Aslam Gul for holding the examination in a smooth way. He asked the students who failed to clear the examination not to get depressed but work hard for passing in the next attempt.

 

Meanwhile, FBISE also announced that the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Supplementary Examination, 2013 would commence from November 19, 2013.
