Dengue awareness drive continues
Lahore: September 02: POSTGRADUATE Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital (PGMI/LGH) Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra and LGH MS Dr Amjad Shahzad have said that dengue is a social problem which can be eradicated by creating maximum sensitisation among the masses about it.

 

In a press statement issued here on Sunday, they said that awareness drive against dengue was in full swing at LGH and public address systems had been installed at Outdoor and Emergency wards to inform public about the preventive measures against dengue. They said the people were also being informed about the precautionary measures through website of LGH and the website address had also been printed on the token of Emergency and Outdoor departments. They said dengue awareness SMS service had also been launched to keep the social and political organisations and the people associated with medical profession and media with the latest situation of dengue menace and how to counter it. They said that Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif was committed to saving the people from dengue and he had also sent a team of doctors to Swat to control this menace. They stressed upon the medical professionals to put in their utmost efforts to eradicate this disease from the country for ever. The hospital administration has also provided special dengue training to doctors belonging to various hospitals of the province and workshops and seminars to spread maximum awareness and information about this disease have become a permanent feature of LGH. They emphasised the people associated with media and civil society to actively participate in the campaign to curb dengue because it was a noble and national cause.The news.
