SMIU Preparations for Sindh Moot Reviewed
Karachi : August 27: A meeting of the organising committee of Second International Seminar on `Sindh Through the Centuries’ was held on Monday.
An official of the institution said that the moot would be organised by the Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) in December this year.Dr Hamida Khuhro, Convener of the organising committee and Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of SMIU, chaired the meeting.
Other members who attended the meeting were Dr Nilofer Shaikh, noted archaeologist and former Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Dr Jaffer Ahmed, Director Pakistan Study Centre, University of Karachi (KU) Shaista Muhammad Ali, Honorary Adviser on Cultural Affairs, SMIU Deans Dr Safeeullah Soomro, Dr Fouzia Naeem Khan, Dr Seema Jilani, Dr Anjum Bano Kazmi, Gulzar Ahmed Mughal, Officiating Registrar SMIU, Ghulam Ali Surhio.
In the meeting, arrangement for the seminar made so far, were reviewed and the related issues were discussed in detail.The meeting decided that the Second International Seminar on Sindh Through the Centuries would be held from December 16 to 18 in Karachi. It approved the minutes of the first meeting of the organising committee and the Sub-Committee, constituted for views of abstracts of the paper sent by noted research scholars of various countries for the seminar.
