Karachi :  04 October : Aga Khan University is organising a public health session on Down Syndrome or Down’s Syndrome on October 4 to promote awareness, acceptance and advocacy for individuals with this disorder. The event will offer awareness sessions for patients, their families, caretakers, educators and medical professionals, said the organisers on Thursday. Experts will also discuss the management, available resources and treatment for children suffering from Down’s Syndrome. Children with this syndrome are associated with physical growth delays, learning difficulties, and sometimes other medical conditions, most of which are manageable and treatable. It is also known as trisomy 21, a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. It is considered one of the most common chromosome abnormality in humans. app.
