CCPO Ordered to Produce Missing Student
LAHORE : 28 August : The Lahore High Court on Tuesday ordered the CCPO Lahore to recover and produce before the court a student of Punjab University allegedly arrested by the police.
Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi of LHC issued the orders. The missing student’s relative approached the court and submitted that the Qila Gujjar Singh, Lahore police had taken Muhammad Abid in custody few months ago and since then his whereabouts were not known to anyone. He said no case was lodged against Abid and police had also not produced him before any court. He requested that police be ordered produce him before the court. Another court on Tuesday sought replies within 15 days from superintendent of police Model Town division and Raiwind station house officer on a petition seeking recovery of a seminary student, Usman Mehboob, allegedly detained by the police. Rizwan Mehboob filed the petition alleging that police had arrested his brother four months ago.Daily Times.
