LAHORE: In line with the agri-friend policy of Chief Minister of the Punjab, Muhammad
Shahbaz Sharif, Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is putting
its best efforts to offer short courses in the agriculture field across the province of the
Punjab. It was stated by Chairman TEVTA Mohsin Syed while addressing the Principals of
TEVTA Institutes here yesterday. He said, being pioneer to organize technical education
sector in the Province of the Punjab, TEVTA, with the consultation of District Board of
Management across the province of the Punjab, is making its full efforts to offer new
courses relating to technical education and vocational training to all walks of life. He said
that TEVTA will offer agro-technology support courses for farmers which will enable them
mechanize farming for per acre increase in yield and reduction in inputs. TEVTA will also
introduce a free mobile course for tractor operators in which they will be imparted training
for leveling of agriculture land by using laser technology. In this program, TEVTA will train
one thousand laser land leveling per year. He further said that TEVTA is also making
necessary arrangements to offer courses in live stock sector. These courses will be helpful
for nutrition and dairy farm management. All these courses are being offered by the active
participation of private sector leading firms and multinational companies. He also said that
Technical Education is the most viable and practical solution for poverty alleviation by
generating jobs for skilled & semi-skilled workers at mass level. We are educating annually
more than two lacs youth under various disciplines, he further said. Keeping in view the
market trends, amendments have been made in the various TEVTA disciplines/courses to
meet the growing demand of industry locally & globally, he also said
