Ombudsman takes Notice of Girls School’s Closure
Lahore: October 04: Taking notice of the closure of a newly built Government Girls Model School, Behak Ahmad Yaar, Hafizababd, since 2007, Punjab ombudsman Javed Mahmood ordered the Punjab Secretary Schools and the DCO, Hafizabad, to submit a detailed report within seven days.
The Ombudsman, commenting on the pathetic condition of education, stated that issues relating to provision of education to the children were being badly ignored in Hafizabad.
The Ombudsman also decided to visit Hafizabad, in coming days, to keenly observe such issues personally.
He said that Girls Model School, Behak Ahmad Yaar was constructed in 2007 and, despite starting teaching session, it had virtually become the safe shelter place for addicts. Animal were grazing there and boundary walls of the school had collapsed, he said.
What one can say about the condition of normal schools after having a glance at Girls “Model” School, Behak Ahmad Yaar, Hafizabad, observed the Ombudsman.
He said that he had reliable information that children of the school were impersonating the duties of teachers in classrooms in some schools, asking what steps the education department was taking in this regard.
The Ombudsman directed the Schools secretary and the DCO Hafizabad to clarify the position and produce documents as to who was responsible for the security of the school building. The news.
