No doubt the medical science is progressing day by day. New and modern technologies are introduced to coup with the medical problems which our patients are facing. But at the same time, about the side effects, contraindications and consequences, the patients are not informed properly. These modern weapons are definitely helpful, but when, where and how these should be applied are not taken care of when treated the patients. Or limitations of these modern technologies are not given importance. The only thing which we are seeing that doctors are intended to use them for the benefit of their pocket in any way and not for benefit of patient’s health.
One of the example is of Dr. Saleem Ch. He had kidney stone and was gone under laser treatment to break the stone and to expel them from the body. Three or four times laser theraphy was perfomed. The consequent result was that his brain was got also affected. Although laser was performed on kidney but damage was also occurred on other body tissues.
After few months he was diagnosed with brain tumor or glyoma or something else because doctor unable to diagnosed it. He was again gone under gammaknife therapy at KARACHI. The most modern technique to remove blood clotting or tumour or etc. from the brain. In the process or side effect, bleeding was occurred and he is no more in this world. He was 40 years of age. The purpose of sharing my views was not that I am against laser therapy. My point is the use of laser is limited and it should not be used as first hand solution.
