Medical colleges : 4 centres set up for entry test
Rawalpindi : 31 August :Four centres have been established by the district administration for the entry test of medical and dental colleges of Punjab, to be held on September 22.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the administration had finalised a comprehensive strategy to ensure foolproof security arrangements at the centres established in Government Postgraduate College for Women, Satellite Town, Government College for Boys Satellite Town, Siddique Public School and Ideal Cambridge School, 6th Road.

Addressing a meeting held to review the arrangements, he said that no student would be allowed to take mobile phones, cameras, laptops and any kind of literature in the centres. The meeting was attended by Aqeel Ahmed Khan, Executive District Officer (Education) Qazi Zahoorul Haq, Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, Executive District Officer (Municipal Services) Khawaja Zaheeruddin, District Officer (Solid Waste) Dr Mazhar Azeem, New Town Deputy Superintendent of Police Taimur Khan, Rawalpindi Arts Council Resident Director Waqar Ahmed and representatives of WAPDA and the colleges. He said special areas would be allocated for parking and for parents and guardians, while the 6th Road would also be closed off.

He directed the traffic police and district police officials to visit the area and select appropriate location for car parking to facilitate students and their parents.

Randhawa also directed the authorities concerned to set up information counters at the centres for proper guidance of students.

He said a training workshop would be arranged for the staff of the University of Health Science at the Rawalpindi Arts Council on September 21. app.
