Gov counts education feats
Lahore : 31 August : Punjab Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar on Friday called on The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid Nizami at the latter’s residence and lauded his lifelong services for the motherland.  During the meeting, national and international issues came under discussion.
Paying tributes to the veteran, Ch Sarwar said Dr Nizami was not an individual in the field of journalism, rather an institution, who represented a golden era, during which he strived hard to protect ideological boundaries of the country.
The governor said the role played by the veteran journalist for the dissemination of the Two-Nation Theory would be remembered. He said that a book must be compiled on Nizami’s struggle.
The governor said that the Punjab government under Shahbaz Sharif took revolutionary steps for bettering education. He said that cooperation of the well to do Pakistanis in this regard would be a good sign. He said the support of media was also necessary to educate people.
Dr Nizami said that he lauded government’s people friendly policies and stressed that he would extend support to the government on its stand on the key issue of Kashmir. Dr hoped that the government would honestly solve public problems.Daily Times.
