Introduction :

The Computing Faculty, UOG has been established with the aim to provide state-of-the-art learning to the youth of the nation. At UOG, we are striving to provide high quality education to all on affordable fee. By maintaining strong links with the industry and the professionals, we have designed programs to meet the demands of ever-changing work place and continuing professional development. We are confident that the congenial environment of UOG will offer a stimulating and enriching intellectual experience to our students for enhancing their career prospects.

Goals :

The goal of the Faculty of Computing is to prepare students for productive careers in industry, academia and government by providing an outstanding environment for teaching, learning and research in the theory and applications of computing. The department places high priority on establishing and maintaining innovative research programmers to enhance its education quality and make an important regional, national, and international resource centre for discovering, integrating and applying latest knowledge and technology. The CS & IT programs are designed to equip students with a broader and deeper understanding of the theory, design and applications of computers to make students capable enough to implement their novel ideas and prepare them for long and successful careers in industry and government. Our students will “learn to learn” so that they can readily adapt themselves to the field of computing as well as their work environment. Our graduates will have good oral and written communication skills as well as a clear understanding of ethical issues relating to the computing profession.
The principal objective of the Masters Program is to inculcate in the students a high level of responsibility and expertise. It is such a rapidly expanding field as individuals entering with Masters Degree in this field will almost immediately move to the positions with great responsibility. This, in turn, implies the requirement for an advanced level of prior training in both technical and related areas (e.g. communication skills). In all these cases, the Masters Degree provides both motivations for the students and a standard for reward by the employer.
The proposed structure is dynamic and provides basis for various options including Breadth-Based, Depth-Based, and Integrated Breadth and Depth-Based specializations. Students may choose a particular option, which is most appropriate to their planned future career.
