CCTV cameras, jammers for cell phones installed at MBBS exam centres

LAHORE: A network of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and cell phone jammers have been installed at all examination centres for pre-admission entry test for MBBS first year being conducted on Sunday (today) across Punjab.

University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Malik Mubbashar told reporters that to ensure 100 percent transparency, the entry of peons or messengers had also been totally banned in the examination centres. He said for the first time sealed bottles of water, especially prepared and packed with the label of UHS, would be delivered to all candidates at the time of entry. He said special arrangements had been made for disabled candidates besides special parking space for the relatives of candidates. The VC said backup generators had been provided at all centres besides providing first aid to meet any emergency.

He said 1,296 invigilators had been appointed after obtaining clearance by the agencies. A total of 14,987 female and 6,502 male candidates would appear simultaneously in the test against 2,479 vacant seats in all the medical colleges and dental institutions of Punjab. app
