New Education Policy Finalised, says minister
Lahore:July 17:PROVINCIAL Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that the provincial government has finalised new education policy after taking into confidence all the stakeholders.
This policy will be presented for public opinion very soon before tabling it in the Punjab Assembly for approval in a month or so.
According to a handout issued on Tuesday, talking to the media during his visit to Gujrat, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan revealed that there will be a uniform system of education and uniform curriculum for all the educational institutions in the province, both from private and public sectors. The District Education Authority will be established in every district of Punjab to effectively implement the proposed education policy, he added.
The minister further informed the media that the District Education Authority will be authorised to grant a cash prize up to the tune of one million rupees to those educational institutions of its relevant district on producing excellent results in the examinations while the educational institutions producing weak results will be held accountable to the District Education Authority which will also have the power to address complaints regarding any hindrance in the way of promotion of education, he concluded.The news.
