Educational institutions in Bara to reopen
BARA: September 02:  All the educational institutions in the Bara tehsil in the Khyber Agency would reopen soon, an official said on Sunday.
Talking to the representatives of All Teachers Association Khyber Agency, Political Agent Mutahir Zeb said initially a few educational institutions would reopen, which would be followed
by gradual reopening of the rest of the schools and colleges.
He said all the equipment and furniture would be provided to the schools to facilitate the students and asked the teachers to turn up for duty. He said action would be taken against the teachers, who remained absent from the schools.
All most all government schools and colleges have either been destroyed or closed due to conflict in Bara since September 2009. In the first week of August, the security forces reopened all the roads in Bara after a period of nearly four years.
Meanwhile, the shopkeepers and traders asked the political administration to reopen Bara bazaar and compensate them for the losses they suffered due to its closure over the last four years.
The demand came at a meeting of Bara Tajir Union, a representative body of Bara bazaar, held in Batathal area of Peshawar on Sunday. Maqbali Khan, president of the union, said the traders and shopkeepers lost everything over the last four years and asked the government to compensate them. He welcomed the reopening of roads in Bara and asked the authorities to reopen Bara bazaar. The news.
