Pakistani student selected to attend Spikes Asia festival
Karachi :September 13: Anosha Nimra Shahab, a student of BS Media Studies at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), has been selected from Pakistan to attend the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity 2013, from September 15 to 17 in Singapore.
She is one of the 15 students picked from across Asia/Asia-Pacific, and the only one from Pakistan to have received a fully sponsored trip to the event.
Spikes Asia 2013 is a collaborative effort between Cannes Lions and the Haymarket Media Group that brings together business and industry leaders, experts and creative professional from the world of advertising, marketing and media.
Talented college students and young people aspiring to make a mark in the creative industry attend as delegates and participants, to benefit from a series of seminars, talent and training sessions, and networking events, and to get a taste of the rich creative communication experiences shared at the festival.

 

The Spikes Asia Awards set the benchmark for creativity in the entire Asia-Pacific region.

 

A total of 4,832 entries have been received from 20 countries this year, to compete in 16 different categories ranging from branded content and entertainment, to creative effectiveness, promo and activation, design, and digital to film craft.

 

The international jury consists of 78 industry practitioners from APAC and beyond.

 

Global giants such as Microsoft, Google, Getty Images, Cheil, Dentsu, JWT, McCann Worldgroup, Leo Burnett and others constitute the major partners for this event.

 

The sponsorship roster also contains some outstanding names from the creative world.

 

The IoBM, best known for its business education, comprises four colleges, the College of Business Management (CBM), the College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCIS), the College of Economics and Social Development (CESD) and the College of Engineering & Sciences (CES), The BS Media Studies program offered by IoBM is attracting a growing number of ambitious youth, looking for a career in Media and related industries.The news.
