UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (UET), LAHORE STARTED UET-ACRE INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY & BUSINESS INCUBATION CENTER IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
UET has established Innovation Technology and Business Incubation Center (TBIC) with the following facilities:-
1. GSM lab from Huawei Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
2. Computer Classroom
3. Regular Classroom
4. Offices & lab facilities
On the 27th of March, 2009 an MOU/agreement was signed between the UET, Lahore & Arab Circle Renewable Energy (ACRE), Jeddah represented by Lt. Gen (R) Muhammad Akram Khan (Vice-Chancellor) and Visiting Professor Iftikhar Ahmad Durrani (Managing Director), ACRE, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The objectives are:-
1. To develop Academia Industry Linkages between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in Renewable Energy.
2. To incubate and develop technology companies in Renewable Energy
3. To train personnel and engineers in the field of Renewable Energies
4. To promote R&D capabilities of UET, Lahore
5. To establish global collaboration in renewable energy
6. To develop research and development projects through academia-Industry linkages in the renewable energy through Business Incubation and Technology Centers (BITCs)
The activities will be jointly managed by Dr. Naveed Shahid (drsnaveed@uet.edu.pk) for renewable energy sector & Dr. Waqar Mahmood (director@kics.edu.pk) in ICT sector in collaboration with the department of Chemical Engineering, Dr. A.R. Saleemi (darsaleemi@yahoo.com) working on Climate Change Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and energy efficiency. For details check out following links
