Students week concludes at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi:The students week at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) concluded here on Saturday, says a press release.

Different competitions, inter-university Bilingual Declamation & Solo Performance (Drama), Master Mind Quiz Competitions and Food Festival were held at the last day of Students Week. The week continued from April 14-18.

In the inter-universities Bilingual Declamation contest seventeen universities participated. The judges of English Declamation contest were Professor Tassadque Hussain, Prof. Tabassum Shahzad amd Sarwat Mubarik and judges of Urdu Declamation contest were Prof. Dr. Athar Naseem, Syed Ghyoor and Fazal-ul-Shan. In the English speech contest, Hina Naseem of Punjab University secured first position, Hadia Rehma of Fatima Jinnah Women University got second and Ayub Zahid of Ayub Medical College obtained third position.

Meanwhile, Sheraz Ahmad of Agriculture University Faisalabad got first, Rehan-ul-Haq of Veterinary Sciences University Lahore got second and Sohail Aziz of Sindh University Jamshoro got the third position in the Urdu declamation contest.

A large number of university students and faculty members also witnessed the occasion. At the end the chief guest PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan distributed shields and certificates among the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan highlighted the importance of such competitions for the promotion of healthy activities among the students.
