General ADMISSION Rules OF Special CATEGORIES

1.         A-level / Equivalent

For admission on the basis of A-level! Equivalent, admission forms can be obtained from the IJBL, GCU Branch, Lahore. The students who seek admission on the basis of A-level should also attach their result with the application form. They will also have to submit equivalence certificate. They must have passed their A-level Examination in at least 3 subjects. They will be given admission on the basis of their performance in A-level! Equivalent Examinations and the merit of such candidates determined amongst them after converting their grades of A-level! Equivalent according to the following formula.

A=75 Marks             B=63 Marks

C= 53 Marks            D=40 Marks

E = 33 Marks

2.         CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

1. Drama

2. English Debate

3. Music

4. Photography

5. Punjabi Debate

6. Qirat/ Naat

7. Rovers Club

8. Urdu Debate

    *      The candidates seeking admission on the basis of outstanding performance in co-curricular activities are required to submit a “CATEGORY FORM” along with the usual admission form. A candidate applying on co-curricular basis will not be considered on Open Merit if S/he has not submitted a separate application form for Open Merit.
    *      Attested copies of the co-curricular certificates must be attached with the form. No co- curricular certificate will be accepted after the due date of submission of admission form.
    *      The candidates will have to appear for the trials of the co-curricular activities according to the programme given by the Chairman Societies Board.
    *      The candidates recommended by the Societies Board will be called for interview on the scheduled dates. The candidates who remain absent or fail in his/her interview will have no claim for admission.
    *      Students selected for admission on co-curricular basis will be assigned to Science and Arts Groups by the Admission Committee at the time of interview on the basis of the candidate’s ability and aptitude. The decision of the Admission Committee will be final.

DISABILITY

Some seats are reserved for the special applicants. Such applicants should attach with their admission form the “Disability Certificate” obtained from the District Disability Board.

    *      10 seats are reserved for Foreign National candidates seeking admission to the University.
    *      In addition, 03 seats are reserved for students from Bangladesh

Admission Requirements 

   1.      Foreign Students seeking admission in GC University Lahore has to apply for admission directly to the University and get the letter of confirmation of his/her admission:

        *          GC University Lahore will send a copy of admission letter to HEC
        *          HEC to conform and endorse admission MOI.
   2.      Student approaches the Pakistani Mission abroad for the vias and submits the following documents:

    *      Application From (Student Visa Form)
    *      Photocopy of passport
    *      Photograph
    *      Educational Documents
    *      Admission letter of University

   3.      The Pakistani mission abroad forwards all the documents to ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad for further processing.

   4.      Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad forwards all documents to ministry of Interior for security clearance.
    *      Copy to Ministry of Education/Health
    *      Copy to HEC
   5.      Ministry of Interior as per policy to complete all process within 4 weeks sends visa advice to Mission Concerned.

    *      Copy to HEC
    *      Copy to Ministry of Foreign Affairs

   6.      HEC send information of Visa advised by email to:

    *      GC University Lahore
    *

      Ministry of Education/Health

Visa to be issued for duration of studies to be renewed annually inclusive of security clearance.

OVERSEAS PAKISTANI CHILDREN

In addition to the seats for admission to the 3rd Year on merit, 60 seats have been allocated in the GC University Lahore, for the Overseas Pakistani Children for the session 2007-2011. It’s allocation shall be as under:

Science & Technology    32
Arts & Social Sciences    18
Language, Islamic & Oriental Learning    10

    *      The candidate should write in legible writing “Overseas Pakistani” on the top right corner of the admission form.
    *    General conditions for admission against the seats reserved for Overseas Pakistani Children shall be the same as laid down for the candidates applying for admission to B.A/B.Sc (Honours) in the University on Open Merit.
    *      They should have passed their Intermediate Examination in 1st Annual 2007 or 2nd Annual 2006 securing at least 50% marks.
    *      The candidate should not be more than 22 years of age on the last date of the submission of admission form.
    *      Their parents must be Pakistanis working / engaged in a business in foreign country.
    *      In case a candidate’s parent is employed in a foreign country, S/he should submit a certificate to that effect from the employer.
    *      In case a candidate’s parent is engaged in business in a foreign country, S/he should produce a proof of his/her business/office along with the admission form.
    *      The candidates applying on this basis shall apply for admission directly to the University along with the other candidates. The candidates who have passed Intermediate Examination from any Intermediate Board in Pakistan are eligible.
    *      Four attested recent photograph should be attached with the application form along with the following document:
       1.          Four attested copies of Intermediate Result Card and one attested copy of Matriculation Result Card.
       2.          An attested copy of Character Certificate from the institution last attended.
       3.          The proof of candidate’s parent’s employment or business in a foreign country.
    *      Application form complete in alt respects shall be submitted at the same Branch of the United Bank limited from where it has been obtained.
    *      The list of the eligible candidates for interview will be displayed on the University Notice Board on the specified date.
    *      The Candidates at the time of admission shall have to pay Rs. 1,00,000/= in addition to regular dues for the entire programme.

Three seats are reserved for the candidates from each province/area; one seat for each Faculty i.e. Faculty of Science & Technology, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences & Faculty of Languages, Islamic & Oriental Learning.
