Iqra Centre for Technical Education Islamic University Students Demand Attestation of Diploma

ISLAMABAD, Jul 3 (APP): Students Action Committee of Iqra Centre for Technical Education (ICTE), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) today demanded to restore attestation of ICTE Diploma awarded by IIUI. ICTE diploma was already declared equivalent with DAE/HSSC issued by Board of Technical Education/Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) of Pakistan. The students demanded from the Inter- Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) to issue the verification of this diploma as thousand of students are suffering due to non availability of equivalent certificate. This institute is following national curriculum as well as the rules and regulation of Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE). National Institute for Science and Technical Education (NISTE) and National Vocational, Technical Education Committee has also urged the IBCC to give this institute equivalency as it fulfils the requirements. According to the rules, HEC attests all the degrees of Islamic University. While the certificates of technical education are issued equivalency by NAVTEC and NISTE. IBCC is supposed to issue equivalency of intermediate certificates. Islamabad High Court in its decision on January 6, 2009 asked IBCC to re-examine this case. ICTE has made inter-court appeal after which High Court Islamabad asked IBCC on January 31, 2009 to submit reply within two months. The university authority has not submitted reply even after four months which is ruining the future of thousands of students. The students urged IBCC to respond as early as possible so that the students can continue their studies or start their professional career.
