The faculty aims are
Improving standard of medical education to international level and producing better doctors graduating from SIMS.
Improving training of junior doctors and post graduate students attached tothe institutional hospital thus producing better surgeons for future.
Establishing center of excellence for proper management of patients coming for treatment to the institution attached hospital.
Establishing continued research and improving standard of research in the field of surgery.
Updating the knowledge and continuous medical education of post fellowship doctors of the institute.
