Intercollegiate poetry competition for girls


KARACHI,  An intercollegiate poetical competition among female students is being organized in Karachi on 17th February 2010 in collaboration with Government College for Women Shahrah-e-Liaquat under the directives of Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Syed Faisal Sabzwari to provide platform to youths for exploring their hidden talent.
   
The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by Faisal Sabzwari at his office on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Secretary Youth Affairs Sindh Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Director Youth Affairs Khursheed Ali Sheikh and other officials. Minister said the youths are being provided opportunities to show their talent.
   
He said such competitions would enhance the co-curricular and non-curricular activities among the students. He directed officials to appoint judges in the competition specialized in poetical literature to ensure fair results.  Secretary Youth Affairs Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said on the occasion that youths of the country are fully enriched with capability, however, there is need to boost their talent, he added. Secretary said the government is busy in solving problems faced by youths.
   
Director Youth Affairs Sindh Khursheed Ali Sheikh said that Sindh Youth Department is organizing co-curricular activities to explore the intellectual talent of female students. He informed that first winner of the competition will get Rs15,000 cash, 2nd runner up Rs10,000 and 3rd runner up Rs5,000. He said 20 other students would also be awarded Rs1,000 each for their efforts. Khursheed added that two female students from each collage will be able participate in the competition. PPI
