G C University graceful ceremony
LAHORE:THE Government College University (GCU) awarded cash prizes to the teachers of position-holders at a graceful ceremony on Tuesday.
The Punjab government had given away about Rs one million to the institution for securing top nine positions in the BISE intermediate annual examinations 2009 which GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab disbursed among the concerned teaching staff.
GCU VC lauded the Punjab government for initiating special cash prize for teachers of the position-holders. He said it would encourage the teachers who would work hard on their students. He also appreciated the establishment of Punjab Educational Endowment Fund for giving scholarships to the students. The teachers, including Muhammad Umar Hayat, Uzma Hanif, Yahya Khurram, Rukhsana Kausar, Sabahat Zahra, Saima Sarwar, Ana Ashraf, Mahrukh Nishat, Sumbal Maqsood, Azhar Ali Zafar, Nauman Aslam, Syed Rizwan Ahmad, Abdul Aijaz, Ahitsham Jan, Saeed Ahmed Butt, Tahir Jamil, Naila Pervaiz, Shahid Karim, Uzma Noreen, Zaheer Iqbal, Sadia Sharif, Ataul Haq, Inamul Haq, Haroon Qadir, Saeed Murtaza, Nasima Rehman and Saima Iram, were awarded with cash prizes.
