UoP declares BA/BSc results


Peshawar, Oct 13: The University of Peshawar (UoP) has announced results of the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Nursing and Theology, Annual 2008 here Saturday with overall success ratio of 24.85 per cent.

Briefing media at his office, UoP Controller of Examinations Iftikhar Huusain Khan said that 64,179 candidates appeared in the examinations and 49,064 of them were declared successful.

In BA examination, Sonia Shamas of Amina Degree College for Women, Hayatabad, got first position. She secured 398 marks. The second position was grabbed by Nadia Javed of Jinnah College for Women (JCW), who got 392 marks. Syed Sabir Muhammad of Government Postgraduate College, Mardan was declared third by securing 390 marks.

In BSc examination, Samia Ameen and Samina Mushtaq of JCW were declared first. Both the candidates got 474 marks apiece. Samina of Government Postgraduate College for Women, Mardan, was stood second by securing 470 marks, while Syeda Nasira Sidiqa of the same college got third position. She secured 464 marks.

The controller said that in BA examination 54,523 candidates appeared and 14,154 of them were declared successful, while in BSc examination 8,845 students appeared and 4,910 passed the examination. He said that regular students would get their detailed marks certificates (DMCs) from their respective colleges, while private students would get their DMCs on their postal addresses.
