11th National Symposium on 'Frontiers in Physics' at GC University, Lahore
Symposium on ‘frontiers in physics’ F.P. Report


LAHORE: 11th National Symposium on 'Frontiers in Physics' is going to start today and will continue till 31st January 2009 in the Bokhari Auditorium GC University, Lahore. Symposium is a joint effort of The Pakistan Physical Society and National Center for Physics. In the Inaugural ceremony eminent Physicist of Pakistan Prof. Dr. Riaz ud Din will be the Chief Guest while Dr. Khalid Aftab Vice Chancellor GCU will preside the occasion. Moreover Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy will deliver the Inaugural lecture. The first day proceedings will be dedicated to Prof. Abdus Salam who was student of Government College Lahore from 1942-46 and later as a Professor from 1951-54. Prof. Abdus Salam received the Nobel Prize of Physics in 1979. A number of speakers will highlight the life and work of Prof. Salam.
