10th Convocation of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University held 1,138 students awarded degree

RAWALPINDI: About 39 students of various disciplines were decorated with medals while total 1, 138 graduating students were awarded degrees at the 10th Convocation of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-AAUR) held here on Wednesday. 19 PhD scholars were also awarded degrees on successfully completing their studies. University's Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan presided over the convocation and awarded degrees to the students. Addressing on the occasion, Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan said that progress with regard to human resource development, which is considered to be a primary objective of any academic and research institution, has been remarkable during the last year in PMAS-AAUR. He said "It is a matter of high pride for me to inform that during the past year, 19 people qualified their PhDs" which he added was an ever increasing number at this campus. He informed the gathering that development projects worth Rs.1244 million are at various stages of completion. Infra structure development at the campus has yielded 5 to 6 times of original building, which includes administrative blocks, Academic blocks, new Faculty and Institute buildings and establishment of field labs on the Research Farm. Dr. Khalid Mahmood said that with the changing environment in scientific and technological advancements, concerning all the disciplines, our researchers will continue their march in the forward, and attain the brilliance to match the highest levels of competence, train the youth in terms of relishing the research profile and simultaneously, develop a high insight into the moral intellect
