Peshawar University Teachers Foundation  hails restoration of Iftikhar

Peshawar: Peshawar University Teachers Foundation (PUTA) on Monday has welcomed the restoration of the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry. A press released issued here on Monday said that the teachers of the province had planned to take part in the long march but cancelled it after the prime minister announced the reinstatement of the Chief Justice. Moreover, it said that now the teachers would celebrate a thanks giving day on the 21st of this month as the struggle of the lawyers and the civil society succeeded. He said that the reinstatement of the Chief Justice would augur well for the country. Meanwhile, Pakistan Youth Alliance (PAR) in collaboration with Institute of Education and Research (IER) will hold a fund raising event for the internally displaced people of Bajaur and a protest against the US drone attacks on our tribal areas at the IER on march 21, 2009 from 10am to 12 noon.
