Commissioner Orders Removal of encroachments around Schools
Karachi:July 18:Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui issued directives on Wednesday for removing encroachments from the surroundings of educational institutions in the city.
There must not be any encroachment around the buildings of educational institutions, besides garbage containers, pushcart vendors, rickshaws, taxis and bus stands should also be removed immediately,” he directed during his visit to Habib Public School.
Principal Nargis Alvi apprised the commissioner of the problems faced by the administration and students of the school and requested him to solve them on priority basis. Managing Trustee of the school, Muslim R. Habib, Manager Admin Tahir Alam and Manager Security Hasham Khan were also present on the occasion.
The Habib Public School has produced 11 Olympians and other well-known sportsmen who have achieved international acclaim. We are proud of this institution and security and traffic issues faced by the school’s management and students must be resolved on emergency basis,” the commissioner directed.
He assured that measures would be taken to address the reservations of the school administration as well as the parents of the students.
Shoaib Siddiqui said that the purpose of his visit was to give assurance to the teachers, parents and the students that the city administration stands with them, adding that the administration was determined to provide peaceful environment at all the educational institutes of the city.

 

He directed the assistant commissioner Harbour to remain in touch with the school administration, while the DSP Traffic concerned would be responsible for managing traffic in the area.
According to him, the DSPs Operation and Traffic would pay joint visits to the surroundings of the school and garbage would be lifted from around the school building on regular basis. All utility agencies, concerned police officers and assistant commissioner Habour would submit their reports to this effect on fortnightly basis.The news.
