World Maritime Day Celebrated
Karachi : September 27: The Pakistan Navy celebrated the World Maritime Day at a festival organised at the Pakistan Maritime Museum on Thursday; the theme for this year was Sustainable Development.
The event was open for schoolchildren and families. A large number of stalls showcasing various types of naval ships were set up.
The day is celebrated to remember the sinking of ships at sea, and ensuring safety of seafarers and safety-related issues with the shipping industry,” said a statement released by the navy.
An entertainment area was reserved for students who participated in a quiz competition. Students also had fun singing songs on the stage.
A student of the National University of Science and Technology exhibited his car, which ran on solar energy and electricity.
