Shah Abdul Latif University Workers Protest

Khairpur: Office-bearers and members of the Shah Abdul Latif University Employees Welfare Association (SALUEWA) Khairpur observed a token strike for about two hours on Tuesday in support of their demands.

According to a press release, they marched on the university premises and staged a protest demonstration in front of the administration block and the VC's office.

Protesters alleged that the university had budget for luxurious activities, but it had no money to fulfil workers' demands for leave encashment, promotion, health policy and other facilities.

They said they had been struggling for resolution of workers problems, but the commitments made with them always proved fake. Dawn.
