Girls outshine boys in Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar HSSC examination

PESHAWAR: Female students once again outclassed male students by grabbing top three positions in the intermediate examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar (BISE).

In the overall results, Bushra Khalid stood first by bagging 968 marks while Sana Pervez and Humaira Usman got second and third position by getting 960 and 954 marks, respectively. All the three female students, belonging to Jinnah College for Women (JCW), University of Peshawar, also topped the pre-medical group.

In the pre-engineering group, students of Islamia College Peshawar outshined other students by achieving the top three positions. Faheem Ullah stood first by getting 949 marks, followed by Bilal Khan with 945 marks and Shahrukh Khan with 930 marks.

BISE Chairman Peshawar Farhad Khan announced names of the top position holders in a ceremony here Tuesday. In the general science group Sidra Saeed of Peshawar Model Degree College (PMDC) grabbed top position with 925 marks. Ms Maryam Salim of JCW and Ms Asma Javaid of PMDC (Women) both stood second by getting 922 marks. Ms Iqra Sher of PMDC (Women) was declared third in the group by getting 917 marks.

Nasir Shahzad of Islamia College Peshawar stood first in the humanitarian group by obtaining 899 marks. Ms Hina Habib of JCW got second position with 875 marks. Ms Neelum Ali of JCW and a private student, Ms Shakeela Naz both stood third in the group by securing 865 marks each. Syed Tayyeb Shah topped the theology group by obtaining 893 marks.

Farhad Khan congratulated the position holders and urged them to keep their focus on research as well. He asked the students to keep up the good work to maintain their positions in future.
